Have a Beary Merry Christmas

Tutorial by Jcuttlebear01 aka JoAnn
11/28/2011
I do these tutorials for fun and not
for any profit. I use them also as a learning tool to
help others learn the fun and art of paint shop pro.
Everything I use I have collected don't claim to have
made anything other then the tag.
Notes:
All settings will remain the same unless otherwise noted
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP
Remember to save often in case your psp crashes.
I did this in PSP 9 but sure any one will work.
Scrap kit I used is from
Brenda Grafton/Brendas' Scrap Design
It's called Beary Christmas
You will find it HERE
Supplies
Graphic of choice 2 included in the zip
Font of choice (Kringle reg. included in zip)
Template
Mask
Tubes
All supplies except scrap kit--HERE
I tried my hand at making a template for this tutorial.
It is in the supplies.
I just called it template 1 by Jcuttlebear01
Plug ins
Eye Candy 5 impact HERE
 Duplicate and close the original
Delete the top layer, you don't need it.

Canvas size 850 X 850
On your layer pallet activate the lrg rectangle
Magic wand and select the inside area of the rectangle.
Select paper of choice from the kit>I'm using
bsd_BC_ Paper_23>copy and paste as a new layer.
Selection>invert>Edit>cut, or you can just hit delete on your key board.
Deselect
Layer merge down.
 Effects>plugin>eyecandy 5 impact>bevel
I have included the preset I used in the supplies.
Or if you prefer one of your own that is fine also.
If you don't know how to import to eyecandy 5 presets here is how.

Go to effects>then Eyecandy 5 impact>bevel>settings>then click on manage
A screen will open up>

Click on import>and another will open, you have to know
where you downloaded your supplies to, so you can locate it.
Open that folder up and highlight the icon that looks like this.
and just click on open and it will go in for you.

Hit open and it will tell you that it imported, just close it.
You will see it down under all the other settings
Highlight it and hit ok this setting will remain in
your settings until you delete it out.

Hope this helps.
Give this layer a drop shadow.

In layer pallet highlight the circle layer

Select with magic wand, copy and paste as a
new layer another paper of choice>I used>bsd_BC_ Paper_18

Invert>edit cut, or delete on the key board.
Deselect
Effects>plug in eye candy 5 impact>glass

I have included in the supplies the settings I used.
Import them the same way except into the eyecandy 5 impact>glass effect.

Or use a setting you like. Layer Merge down
In layer pallet highlight
Frame 1 bg. you can either flood fill it with color or a paper of choice.
I flood filled with a gold glitter pattern
Deselect
Then gave it the same eye candy 5 impact glass as before.

Layer pallet highlight the frame 1 layer>select with magic wand
Select>modify>expand by 2.

Copy and paste as a new layer a paper of choice or flood fill
I'm using > bsd_BC_ Paper_08
Selection>invert>delete
Deselect
Layers merge down>twice. from raster 3

Add drop shadow, same as before.

Repeat the above steps for frame 2 and 3 backgrounds.
Also for frame 2 and 3
What mine looks like so far.
If all went well these are the layers you have left.

In layer pallet high light the lg frame bg.

Select with magic wand>add a new raster layer>copy and paste
into your selection>graphic of choice.

Deselect

Layer merge down

Layer pallet highlight the frame>selection>modify>expand by 4
Add a new raster layer.

Flood fill with a nice color from your graphic, or use a paper.
Deselect
You can add the glass effect, or something else
that you might like.

If your not going to add any thing else inside the frame
then layers merge down, this way if you want to move
the frame you can and it is all joined.

Now you can start adding any accents you wish.

Add a button>bsd_BC_ Element (64) and resize by 30%
add drop shadow, and move to right hand corner of the
frame, duplicate>move over to the left side corner of the frame.

Add a bow on on of the buttons>bsd_BC_ Element (57)
Resize by 30% turn them how you want with deform tool
Add a drop shadow.

Add Santa>bsd_BC_ Element (17) resize by 40%
add drop shadow and place him on the left side

Add bear in chair>bsd_BC_ Element (15) resize by 35%
add drop shadow>move over by the right hand side of
the frame, and down some.

 Add a trunk>bsd_BC_ Element (29) resize by 15%
add a drop shadow and move over to the right
and up on the large rectangle or how ever you want it.

Add a bear of choice>bsd_BC_ Element (12)
Resize by 30% add a drop shadow, and place her on the trunk.

Add a flower>bsd_BC_ Element (32) resize by
30% and move over to the right and behind the bear.

Add drop shadow

Add another flower>bsd_BC_ Element (31) Resize it by 25%
Add drop shadow>mirror and place over by
the other flower. Move things like you want them.
Add the gift bag>bsd_BC_ Element (23) Place
it over like its hanging on Santa's hand.

Add a drop shadow.
Add any thing else at this time you wish.

Make finally adjustments how you want things.
Close off the background layer

And merge all visible layers

Resize this layer by 90% and crop off some of the extra around the tag,
be sure and leave room for the mask
open the background layer>flood fill with color of choice.

We are going to add the mask.
With your mask minimized in your psp go to layers>
new mask layer>from image

Merge group>I duplicated the mask a few times
so it would stand out more.

Then close of the merged layer>and merge them together.

Open your original merged layer again.
Resize it by another 90%
and move it so it is centered on the mask.
Crop more off if you wish.
Add any words and name if you wish.
Add your water mark
This is mine now
