Have a Beary Merry Christmas

Tutorial by Jcuttlebear01 aka JoAnn

I wrote this one on 11/28/2011

Redid it 11/09/2017

I do these tutorials for fun and not

for any profit. I use them also as a learning tool to

help others learn the fun and art of paint shop pro.

Everything I use I have collected don't claim to have

made anything other then the tag.
Notes:
All settings will remain the same unless otherwise noted
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP

Remember to save often in case your psp crashes.

I did this in PSP X9 but sure any one will work.
Scrap kit I used is from

Brenda Grafton/Brendas' Scrap Design

Visit here blog HERE

It's called Beary Christmas

You will find it HERE

Graphic of choice 2 included in the zip

I tried my hand at making a template for this tutorial.

It is in the supplies.

I just called it template 1 by Jcuttlebear01
Plug ins

Open the template>
Duplicate and close the original

Delete the top layer, you don't need it.

You can delete the background layer also.

1) Canvas size 850 X 850

2) On your layer pallet activate the lg rectangle

3) Magic wand and select the inside area of the

rectangle.

4) Select paper of choice from the kit>I'm using

bsd_BC_ Paper_23>copy and paste as a new layer.

Selection>invert>Edit>cut, or you can just hit delete

on your key board.

Deselect

 Layer merge down.

5) Effects>plugin>eye candy 5 impact>bevel

I have included the preset I used in the supplies.

Here are the settings in case my preset won't work.

 Repeat drop shadow and change V & H -2

6) In layer pallet highlight the circle layer

Select with magic wand, copy and paste as a

new layer another paper of choice>

Add drop shadow, same as before.

13) Repeat the above steps for frame 2 and 3 backgrounds.

Layer merge down

15) Layer pallet highlight the frame>selection>modify>expand by 4

Add a new raster layer.

Flood fill with a nice color from your graphic, or use a paper.

Deselect

You can add the glass effect, or something else

that you might like. Here are the settings I used
if the preset one don't work for you.
If your not going to add any thing else inside the frame

then layers merge down, this way if you want to move

the frame you can and it is all joined.

16) Now you can start adding any accents you wish.

17) Add a button>bsd_BC_ Element (64) and resize by 30%

add drop shadow, and move to right hand corner of the

frame, duplicate>move over to the left side corner of the frame.

18) Add a bow on on of the buttons>bsd_BC_ Element (57)

Resize by 30% turn them how you want with deform tool

Add a drop shadow.

19) Add Santa>bsd_BC_ Element (17) resize by 40%

add drop shadow and place him on the left side

20) Add bear in chair>bsd_BC_ Element (15) resize by 35%

add drop shadow>move over by the right hand side of

the frame, and down some.

21) Add a trunk>bsd_BC_ Element (29) resize by 15%

add a drop shadow and move over to the right

and up on the large rectangle or how ever you want it.

22) Add a bear of choice>bsd_BC_ Element (12)

Resize by 30% Image mirror>add a drop shadow, and place

her on the trunk.

23) Add a flower>bsd_BC_ Element (32) resize by

30% and move over to the right and behind the

bear.

Duplicate>resize>60%

Add drop shadow

24) Add another flower>bsd_BC_ Element (31) Resize it

by 25% Duplicate the flower.

Add drop shadow>mirror and place over by

the other flower.  Move things like you want them.

25) Add the gift bag>bsd_BC_ Element (23) Place

it over like its hanging on Santa's hand. Resize>20%

Add a drop shadow.

26) Add any thing else at this time you wish.

I added the cat N bear tube>resized by 40%

add drop shadow.

Make finally adjustments how you want things.

Close off the background layer

And merge all visible layers
With your mask minimized in your psp go to layers>

new mask layer>from image
Merge group>I duplicated the mask a few times

so it would stand out more.

Then close of the merged layer>and merge

them together.

Open your original merged layer again.

Resize it by another 90%

and move it so it is centered on the mask.

Crop more off if you wish.

Add any words and name if you wish.

Add your water mark
